Duty‑Free Eligibility for U.S. Customers

Microedge Instruments Inc. is a Canadian manufacturer of data loggers and related products. All data loggers shipped from Canada to customers in the United States are eligible for duty‑free treatment under the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA/CUSMA), provided that customs authorities accept the applicable rules of origin at the time of import.​

For every shipment to the United States, we provide:

  • A CUSMA/USMCA Certificate of Origin

  • A commercial invoice clearly stating that our data loggers are “Made in Canada”

  • The applicable HS tariff codes for our data logger products

If you believe you have been incorrectly charged import tariffs or duties on an eligible order, please:

  1. Check that the importer of record used the CUSMA/USMCA preference at the time of customs clearance.

  2. Confirm that the commercial invoice and Certificate of Origin from Microedge Instruments were submitted to customs.

  3. Verify that the HS tariff code used by your broker matches the one shown on our commercial invoice.

  4. Contact your customs broker or the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) office handling your entry to request a review, correction, or refund (post‑summary correction or protest, as applicable under CBP procedures).

If you need copies of your CUSMA Certificate of Origin, commercial invoice, or HS codes for a shipment, please contact us with your order number and we will be happy to resend the documentation to support your duty‑free claim.
