PRECISE-LOG 8-Channel USB & WiFi Data Loggers

PRECISE-LOG is Microedge’s family of rugged, battery-powered, 8-channel data loggers designed for industrial, laboratory, research, testing, and remote monitoring applications.

The family includes both standalone and WiFi-enabled models:

• PL-X models — standalone data loggers with USB and serial communication
• PL-XW models — WiFi-enabled versions with USB, wireless network access, remote monitoring, and Modbus TCP support

PRECISE-LOG models are available for:

• Thermocouple measurement
• Thermistor measurement
• DC voltage measurement
• DC current measurement

Each logger provides eight external measurement channels and is designed for long-term standalone recording with onboard non-volatile flash memory. The rugged aluminum enclosure makes PRECISE-LOG suitable for both laboratory and industrial environments. 

Standalone and WiFi Versions

The non-WiFi PL-X models operate as standalone data loggers and communicate directly with SiteView through USB or serial communication.

The PL-XW models add onboard WiFi communication, allowing the logger to connect directly to a local wireless network.

WiFi-enabled PRECISE-LOG models include:

• PL-TW – Thermocouple
• PL-HW – Thermistor
• PL-VW – Voltage
• PL-CW – Current

Once connected to the network, these models can be accessed remotely by supported Microedge software without requiring an external USB Device Server. 

Modbus TCP Integration

WiFi-enabled PRECISE-LOG models can also operate as Modbus TCP servers.

When Modbus TCP is enabled, compatible Modbus software or hardware can read supported registers directly from the data logger over the network.

This allows PRECISE-LOG WiFi loggers to integrate with systems such as:

• PLCs
• HMIs
• SCADA systems
• Modbus software
• Other Modbus TCP master devices

This direct Modbus capability distinguishes the WiFi-enabled PL-XW models from standard USB-only data loggers.

High-Resolution Data Logging

PRECISE-LOG data loggers use a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter for high-resolution measurement.

Current family-level features include:

• 8 MB non-volatile flash memory
• Long-term standalone data recording
• USB communication
• Serial communication
• Optional WiFi communication on PL-XW models
• Programmable alarm and excitation functions
• Rugged aluminum enclosure

SiteView Software

PRECISE-LOG data loggers are supported by SiteView software for Windows.

SiteView provides tools for:

• Configuring logging sessions
• Downloading recorded data
• Viewing real-time readings
• Displaying graph and tabular data
• Configuring alarms
• Applying calibration and custom equations
• Converting readings into engineering units
• Exporting and analyzing recorded data

WiFi-enabled PRECISE-LOG models can also be accessed remotely over the local network through SiteView.

Remote Monitoring

The PL-XW WiFi models can connect directly to a wireless network, allowing supported Microedge systems to access the logger remotely.

Depending on the application, WiFi PRECISE-LOG loggers can be used with:

• SiteView
• SiteView-Web
• SiteView SDK
• Pluto

Because WiFi is built into PL-XW models, they do not require Smart-Hub simply to obtain network connectivity.

Rugged, Flexible Data Acquisition

PRECISE-LOG combines multi-channel measurement, standalone battery operation, onboard memory, and optional wireless communication in one platform.

Users can select a standard PL-X model when local USB/serial communication is sufficient, or a PL-XW model when direct WiFi access and Modbus TCP integration are required.
