LPMB-1 SITE-LOG High Accuracy Voltage, Current and Temperatrue Data Logger
The SITE-LOG LPMB-1 is a 7-channel, battery-powered, standalone high-accuracy voltage and current data logger designed for industrial, laboratory, research, testing, and process-monitoring applications.
The logger provides:
- 4 voltage input channels
- 3 current input channels
- 1 onboard temperature channel
The voltage channels support programmable ranges of:
- 0 to 20 VDC
- −5 to +5 VDC
The current channels support:
- 4–20 mA
- 0–50 mA
Input signals can come from sensors, transducers, transmitters, process instruments, batteries, power supplies, and other compatible voltage or current sources.
The onboard temperature channel monitors ambient temperature and provides temperature compensation for improved measurement performance.
Recorded data is stored in 8 MB of non-volatile flash memory, providing long-term standalone data recording without requiring a continuously connected computer.
High-Accuracy Voltage and Current Measurement
The LPMB-1 is designed for applications where both voltage and current signals must be recorded by the same instrument.
Channels 1 through 4 are dedicated to voltage measurement, while channels 5 through 7 are dedicated to current measurement.
The logger uses a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter, providing a resolution of 0.0018%.
Onboard Temperature Monitoring and Compensation
The built-in thermistor measures ambient temperature from:
−40°C to +70°C (−40°F to +158°F)
with an accuracy of:
±0.2°C from 0°C to 70°C
The onboard temperature measurement can be recorded along with the external channels and is also used for temperature compensation.
High-Resolution Data Logging
The LPMB-1 uses a 16-bit ADC for high-resolution voltage and current measurements.
Sampling intervals are programmable from:
20 milliseconds to 12 hours
An external power supply is required when the sampling interval is less than 5 seconds.
This wide sampling range allows the same logger to support both relatively fast testing and long-term monitoring.
Standalone Operation and Long-Term Recording
The LPMB-1 operates independently after configuration and stores measurements in 8 MB of onboard non-volatile flash memory.
The memory provides storage for approximately 4 million readings and retains data for more than 20 years.
Logging can be started by:
- Immediate start
- Programmable delayed start
- Field push-button activation
When memory becomes full, the logger can be configured to:
- Stop recording, or
- Continue recording in FIFO mode
The internal lithium battery provides up to approximately 10 years of operation at a 1-minute sampling interval, depending on operating conditions and configuration.
USB Communication and SiteView Software
The LPMB-1 connects directly to a Windows PC through its Plug & Play USB interface.
SiteView software provides tools for:
- Configuring input channels
- Selecting voltage and current ranges
- Configuring logging sessions
- Downloading recorded data
- Viewing real-time measurements
- Displaying graphs and tables
- Configuring alarm thresholds
- Applying custom calibration
- Applying custom equations
- Converting voltage and current signals into engineering units
- Exporting and analyzing recorded data
The LPMB-1 also provides an AUX TTL-level serial communication interface with automatic baud-rate detection from 2400 to 115200 bps.
Alarm and Excitation Control
The LPMB-1 provides configurable alarm and control functions for applications requiring more than basic data recording.
Each channel supports two programmable alarm thresholds.
The available output terminals can be configured for:
- Alarm output
- Excitation control
The onboard status LED provides visual indication of normal sampling, alarm conditions, and low battery status.
Remote Access and Network Integration
The LPMB-1 can be connected to a Microedge Smart-Hub for remote access over an Ethernet network.
Smart-Hub functions as a USB Device Server, allowing the LPMB-1 to be accessed remotely by:
- SiteView
- SiteView-Web
- SiteView SDK
- Pluto
Smart-Hub can also provide:
- RESTful Web API
- Modbus TCP Gateway
This allows LPMB-1 measurements to be incorporated into remote monitoring systems and third-party industrial applications.
Rugged Industrial Design
The LPMB-1 uses a durable aluminum enclosure and a conformal-coated circuit board for additional protection against:
- Moisture
- Corrosion
- Mildew
The logger is designed for operation from:
−40°C to +70°C (−40°F to +158°F)
at:
0–95% RH, non-condensing.
